Days before John Wick Chapter 4 releases all over the world, fans received the shocking news of actor Lance Reddick passing away. A well known actor, fans of action and John Wick franchise have been wondering: What caused Lance Reddick’s death ?
Reportedly, Reddick was found dead at his home in Studio City, California. Law officials made the discovery on Friday morning, 17th March, 2023. The time of discovery was near to 9:30 A.M. Reddick’s popularity is from starring in hit series The Wire and from the character of Charon in the super-duper-hit movie franchise John Wick. Lance had skipped the New York premiere of JW4 movie. He had shared his video morning of 15th March 2023, Wednesday. He could be seen with his dogs at his home. The Los Angeles premiere of John Wick Chapter 4, at the TCL Chinese Theater witnessed a tribute to Lance. The John Wick Chapter 4 cast and team, alng with the guests and attendees, were seen wearing blue ribbons in his memory.
How did Lance Reddick die?
As per Mia Hansen, who was Reddick’s representative, the veteran actor passed away from natural causes.
Reddick’s family consists of his wife Stephanie Reddick, their two children Christopher Reddick and Yvonne Nicole. His wife payed him an Instagram tribute through a post. It encouraged the fans to donate to a charity operating from Baltimore (Maryland), his hometown.
The post said:
“Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them,”.
“And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in a special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game. Donations may be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown.”
When the news of Rennick’s demise came to light, Reeves and John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski dedicated the upcoming film to Reddick. Actor Keanu Reeves, Rennick’s co-star in John Wick franchise, talked of his association with Rennick very fondly during the red carpet premiere of John Wick Chapter 4. He said, “We worked together on four films over 10 years”. “He was a remarkable artist and a special person with grace and dignity.” Reddick played the role of Charon, The Continental Hotel’s manager, the location which features as the constant, if not permanent, hub for John Wick.
Stahelski said, “I just want to say something about a great man and a great artist, a good friend, that was part of our family. Lance Reddick passed away today”.
What turned out to be one of his final interviews, Reddick had expressed his surprise regarding the ferocity of the franchise. “I couldn’t believe that it was bigger than the last one”. He further said, “I think some fans will be like, ‘Wow. I wanna do that again. Other fans will be like, ‘Okay, I need a martini. That was a lot.’”
