After its theatrical release on December 9, 2022, last year, the movie ‘Vadh’ is now streaming on OTT platform Netflix as of February 3, 2023.
Vadh is not a regular, glamorous Bollywood movie, but it has a ‘Story’. Not only the story but the superb acting of Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, who have a knack for stealing the show whenever they are on screen. The supporting cast is equally good.
Synopsis:
Shambhunath Mishra (played by Sanjay Mishra) is a retired school teacher from Gwalior who is living a helpless, monotonous life with his wife Manju Mishra (Neena Gupta). He previously borrowed money from Prajapati Pandey, a loan shark, to help his son educate and settle in the United States. However, their child later fails to provide financial support, and they are both abandoned by their son in their misery.
Mishra’s days are full of constant humiliation, be it from his son Diwakar (Diwakar Kumar), his neighbor, or Prajapati, who is an evil loan shark from whom Mishra takes a loan. Shambhunath and his wife face this extortioner’s harassment month after month. One day, the situation goes out of hand, and the righteous teacher finishes off their tormentor in a jiffy. Mishra not only murders Prajapati but also ensures that his body is never found.A powerful local cop (Manav Vij) needs to locate Prajapati at any cost. Why does this cop want to find Prajapati? Will Manju Mishra succumb to the pressure of her conscience and sacrifice her marriage? Will Shambhunath get away with the crime, or will he be caught?
