A delightfully twisted conclusion awaits Joe Goldberg’s journey. You, Netflix’s popular psychological thriller series, has been cleared to return for the fifth and last season.
Recently, Netflix announced the confirmation of a fifth and final season of “You.” The series starring Penn Badgley as the prolific serial killer Joe Goldberg is not done yet and will return for a final season.
Based on the novel of the same name, ‘You’, the series premiered its first season on Lifetime in September 2018. The plot revolves around Joe Goldberg, who is a bookstore manager. But he is also a serial killer who falls in love and develops an extreme obsession.
In the new season, there will be a change of showrunners. Sera Gamble originally developed the series with Greg Berlanti. The show has aired its initial four seasons. Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. will be executive producers.
In a statement, Gamble said, “As I step back from day-to-day show running to focus on new projects, I’m immensely grateful to co-creator and all-around genius Greg Berlanti, Caroline Kepnes, my friends at Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, and our steadfast partners at Warner Bros. and Netflix.”

In what Netflix is calling “Joe’s final chapter,” it will be interesting to see what Joe’s fate has in store. Will the famed stalker/serial killer get a cliched judgement day and suffer a dramatic death? Or will he get away with everything? Sadly, we will have to wait a couple more months for the answers.
